The First Pages is an intimate preview of the work that is shaping my next chapter as a writer. Inside are poems that have lived on stages but are appearing on the page for the first time, an original short story, and the opening pages of my forthcoming young adult novel, Nova Rain.
 
At the heart of this collection is Nova Rain—a novel in verse following fifteen-year-old November "Nova" Vince, a church girl navigating faith, friendship, poverty, first love, and the quiet collisions between who the world believes she is and who she is becoming.
 
This collection isn't a finished destination. It's the threshold.
